Eli has changed a bit and I am not sure why or how it happened. But over the last few days I have seen a lot less stimming from him. Maybe he is going through a maturity spike or learning to deal with the urge to stim a different way but it has been noticeable. I told him tonight that I was proud of him for learning to control it and he said, “Dad, I am going into second grade next week, how would it look to my new friends if I was always flapping my hands?” For a kid who does not yet know he has Aspergers, he sure understands himself sometimes.
Proud of my boy. Scared for him but proud just the same.
